The estate extends over land rich in limestone with an average amount of clay at a height of about 300 meters above sea level. In 1983, a millenary vitis vinifera plant was found in the land surrounding Badia a Passignano, confirming its importance in the history of Chianti.</p><p><strong>Badia a Passignano Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione 2018</p> strong> dei <strong>Marchesi Antinori</strong> is a red wine produced exclusively with the best <strong>Sangiovese</strong> grapes of the estate and ages in the historic 10th-century cellars of the Badia di Passignano.</p ><p>The <strong>2018 harvest</strong> benefited from a regular winter and a dry, hot summer period, allowing the grapes to ripen in an ideal manner and guaranteeing a good sugar content and excellent polyphenolic maturation. The wine is vinified with care, with an alcoholic fermentation of about 10 days followed by maceration on the skins for a further 10-12 days, aged in Hungarian and French oak for a few months and subsequently blended to bring out the maximum evolution in wood.
