Barbera D'Asti DOCG Superiore 2020 Winery Fabio Perrone

The Barbera d'Asti is a DOCG (Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin) wine produced in numerous municipalities in the provinces of Asti and Alessandria. Thanks to a more rigorous winemaking process and a longer aging in wooden barrels, Barbera d'Asti Superiore is distinguished from the standard Barbera d'Asti by its greater complexity and aromatic intensity. In particular, Barbera d'Asti Superiore must be aged for at least one year before being marketed.

The'Fabio Perone Farm grows Barbera grapes in the Coazzolo area, in the province of Asti, to produce Barbera D'Asti DOCG Superiore. It is a red wine of great structure and quality, grown in the most suitable vineyards of the property. After the harvest and destemming, the vinification begins with alcoholic fermentation, keeping the temperature constant at around 25°C thanks to the inoculation of selected yeasts. During maceration, pumping over is carried out at regular intervals to favor the contact of the skins with the must and increase the extraction of tannins, anthocyanins and the characteristic aromas of Barbera. After racking to separate the wine from the skins, it is aged in wooden barrels for a year. Barbera D'Asti DOCG Superiore 2020 is a red wine that goes perfectly with the great dishes of Piedmontese cuisine, such as meats, braised meats, game and aged cheeses.
