Calafuria 2023: The Essence of Salento Rosé in FORMAT OF 6

Calafuria 2023 embodies the quintessence of Rosé I.G.T. Salento, a perfect harmony between the territory and the Negroamaro variety. This vintage, defined as "two-faced" due to its mild and rainy climate in winter and spring, followed by a dry and hot summer, it required careful management of the Tormaresca vineyards, located in the charming Masseria Maìme, to ensure ideal maturation of the grapes.

The Harvest and Winemaking

The delayed harvest allowed us to select the grapes at the optimal moment of their ripening, from the end of August to the end of September. The vinification, aimed at preserving the freshness and aroma of the wine, took place at low temperatures, followed by a short refinement in steel, maintaining contact with the yeasts to further enrich the taste profile of Calafuria.

A Unique Territory: The Upper Salento

Masseria Maìme testifies to the beauty of Alto Salento, where the vineyards, surrounded by woods and pine forests, extend to the sea, creating a landscape of rare beauty. Negroamaro, the protagonist vine of Calafuria, finds the ideal expression of its potential here, thanks also to the proximity of the sea which positively influences the microclimate.
