This wine stands out for its refinement, both on the nose and in the mouth, where it offers a distinctly fruity aftertaste. The name of this wine has an intriguing history, meaning "the red-haired vineyard," in honor of its first owner, a man with reddish hair and imposing stature, known for scaring village children. Today, opening a bottle of Barbera "Camp du Rouss" by Coppo is a fearless pleasure, as it is confirmed at excellent levels year after year. Winmaking< /h3>"Camp du Rouss" is produced mainly with Barbera grapes, a variety widely grown in the Piedmont region. The vineyards grow with south-east exposure and are cultivated with the Guyot cultivation system on soils characterized by clay and limestone subsoil, enriched with a strong presence of silt. After the harvest, the grapes undergo maceration in contact with the skins with short and carefully managed pumpovers, followed by alcoholic fermentation. Subsequently, the wine ages for 12 months in French oak barriques, with 20% in new barriques and 80% in second passage barriques. Sensory CharacteristicsThe "Camp du Rouss" Barbera d'Asti has an intense ruby color, typical of this variety. The aromas that emerge are dominated by fruity notes, enriched by hints of sweet spices.
