<p>The Vinupetra Etna Rosso DOC 2018 comes from the ultra-centenarian vines of the VignaCalderara parcel, located in the Porcaria district in the municipality of Castiglione of Sicily, on the northern side of Etna, at 580 meters above sea level. Produced with a blend of Nerello Mascalese (80%), Nerello Cappuccio (10%) and Grenache (10%), this wine represents the authenticity and elegance of the Etna volcanic terroir. The vines are cultivated by hand with the traditional Etna sapling system and supported by Etna chestnut stakes, on volcanic soils rich in skeleton and small and medium-sized lava stones.</p>
<p>The name " Vinupetra" derives from the Sicilian dialect and means "wine produced in a field full of stones", perfectly describing the characteristics of the soil from which the grapes come. The cultivation, vinification and refinement of Vinupetra take place in full respect of tradition, without the use of biotechnology, following the phases of the moon. Each bottle is numbered and embodies the essence of a unique and unrepeatable vineyard, where the volcanic nature of Etna is expressed in all its power and complexity.</p>
<p>This Etna Rosso DOC stands out for its its extraordinary ability to evolve over time, with a complex aromatic profile and a strong tannic structure. <li><strong>Flavor:</strong> On the palate it is rich, structured and enveloping, with silky and well integrated tannins. The finish is long and persistent, with a pleasant mineral note and hints of liquorice and cocoa.</li>

<li><strong>Vinification:</strong> Pressing of the grapes with 30% of the stalks, fermentation in wooden vats with maceration on the skins for at least 15 days. Aging in 225 and 500 liter wooden barrels for 12-18 months and further refinement in the bottle for at least one year.</li>
