This wine represents one of the icons of Sicilian white wine, with the ambition of competing with the great whites of the world. Experimentation on this noble and ancient Campania vine gave life to Cometa, which expresses the extraordinary characteristics of Fiano in an original and unique way. With intense and fruity aromas, its remarkable structure and minerality make it one of the reference white wines of Southern Italy, produced according to the criteria of sustainability and organic farming.

Wine Characteristics

Cometa was born in the Gurra and Dispensa vineyards, located in the municipality of Menfi. These soils, with different characteristics, contribute to giving the wine a unique complexity and richness. The vinification takes place in 80% stainless steel and in oak barrels for the remaining 20%, guaranteeing the wine a perfect combination of freshness and structure.

Technical Details

With an alcohol content of 13% vol., Cometa 2022 has an aging potential that can vary: to drink immediately for up to 15 years. The winemaking takes place using traditional methods, with particular attention to fermentation in Allier oak barriques.

Organoleptic Notes

The Cometa 2022 presents itself with intense aromas of Mediterranean scrub, among which the broom flower, thyme, chamomile, hay, mango and pomelo stand out. On the palate, the wine offers a pronounced minerality, with traces of vibrant flavor that give freshness and dynamism. The finish is elegant and persistent, with notes of ripe apricots, flowering almond trees and basil leaves.
