| Description | Fiano Di Avellino DOCG 2021 Rocca del Principe: A Reflection of Pure Elegance and Expression of the Irpino TerritoryThe Fiano Di Avellino DOCG 2021 by Rocca del Principe is a white wine that superbly expresses the character of the Fiano grape variety, originally from the Campania region. This wine comes from the Irpinia region, known for producing high quality white wines. The vinification in steel highlights the notes of rubber, exotic fruit and aromatic herbs which give the wine a long, complex and persistent sip. Production TerritoryLa Rocca del Principe manages about ten hectares of vineyards, 6 of which are dedicated to Fiano, located on the slopes of Colle Arianiello, the highest area in the Lapio area. The vineyards, planted between 1990 and 2014, are located on two sides of the hill: one facing north-east and the other facing west. The union of different and complementary grapes allows each year to create a harmonious and balanced Fiano. WinemakingThe Fiano Irpinia wine is made with Fiano grapes harvested exclusively from a selection of the youngest vines, cultivated in the municipal area of Lapio, at an altitude of about 500-650 meters above sea level, on rich clay soils of tuff and components of volcanic origin. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, the wine is bottled after a period of rest in steel tanks of about 4 months. It has a light straw yellow color with bright greenish reflections and offers aromas of citrus fruits, white pulp fruit, nuances of wild flowers and medicinal herbs. The sip is intense and elegant, with a good aromatic richness and a fresh and savory finish. |
