| Description | Freisa Langhe DOC 2021 by Cantine Borgogno: A Wine with Deep Piedmontese RootsThe Freisa Langhe DOC 2021 from Cantine Borgogno is a wine that captures the essence of the Langhe, a renowned region of Piedmont. Produced with 100% Freisa grapes, grown in limestone-clay soil at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level, this wine is a true symbol of the territory. Its east/northeast exposure and the Guyot cultivation system, with a density of 4,000 vines per hectare, contribute to defining its unique character. Winemaking and Aging ProcessAfter a manual harvest carried out between the end of September and the beginning of October, the Freisa Langhe DOC undergoes spontaneous fermentation in concrete tanks for approximately 12 days, at temperatures ranging from 22 to 28 °C. Subsequently, a light pressing and aging of 10 months in large oak barrels follows, with a further period of 4 months of aging in the bottle. This process gives the wine a remarkable structure and complexity. Distinctive Organoleptic CharacteristicsThe Freisa Langhe DOC 2021 has an inviting ruby red color. On the nose, there are persistent hints of fresh fruit, in particular plum, accompanied by floral notes of violet and spicy nuances. On the palate, the wine reveals its dry nature, characterized by elegant tannins and a slightly bitter finish, typical of the Freisa variety. These characteristics make it a wine of great personality and charm, ideal to be enjoyed at a temperature of 18°C. |
