Description | Guado al Tasso 2014 - AntinoriThe "Guado al Tasso 2014" wine from the renowned Antinori winery is a true expression of the Bolgheri area. This vintage stands out for its vertical setting, with a slightly acidic finish and an aromatic complexity that captures the senses. Born from an atypical vintage, characterized by abundant summer rains and below average temperatures, this wine represents the excellence of Italian winemaking. Wine CharacteristicsThe 2014 harvest began with the Merlot harvest on September 10th, concluding at the beginning of October with the Cabernet Sauvignon. The vinification took place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature, followed by a maceration of 15-20 days. After racking, the wine was transferred to French oak barriques to complete the malolactic fermentation. After a year of refinement, the wine was assembled and placed back in small barrels for a further six months before bottling. Origins and TerroirThe 2014 Guado al Tasso is produced from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and, occasionally, a small percentage of Petit Verdot grapes. This blend represents the elegance, complexity and structure of the Bolgheri terroir. The vineyards, located on alluvial soil, vary from clay-sandy to clay-loamy, with the presence of a Bolgheri agglomerate. Tasting NotesThis wine has aromatic notes of cherries in alcohol, tobacco, candied orange and spices. In the mouth, the 2014 Guado al Tasso is vibrant, soft and persistent, with a spicy aftertaste. The blend of this vintage is different from usual, with a greater presence of Merlot and the absence of Petit Verdot. Recommended pairingsThe 2014 Guado al Tasso pairs perfectly with red meats, game-based dishes and mature cheeses. Its complexity and depth also make it ideal for elaborate and flavourful dishes. |
