Description | The story of Moët & Chandon began in 1743, when the young and ambitious Claude Moët, coming from a family of wine merchants, founded his company in Epernay, in the heart of the Champagne region in France. In 1971, Moët & Chandon was acquired by the LVMH group, one of the largest luxury groups in the world, which has continued to expand and promote the brand around the world. Today, Moët & Chandon is one of the most famous and respected champagne houses in the world, with vineyards throughout the Champagne region and a wide range of premium champagnes including Moët Impérial, Moët Rosé Impérial and Moët Nectar Impérial. The Moët production area & Chandon is located north-east of Paris and includes the provinces of Marne, Aisne, Haute-Marne, Aube and Seine-et-Marne. The region is divided into five main sub-zones: Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, Côte des Blancs, Sézanne and Aube, each with unique characteristics of the soil and climate that influence the characteristics of the grapes and the wine produced. span>Moët & Chandon has vineyards located in all of these sub-areas, the vines are grown on an area of 1150 hectares (2840 acres) of limestone soil, 50% grands crus and 25% premiers crus. This wide range of vineyards makes it possible to select the best bunches to create its superior quality champagnes. Moët & Chandon Demi Sec Ice Imperial is a version of the famous Moët Impérial champagne, specially created to be served on ice. Moët Ice Imperial is a Demi Sec, i.e. with a lower quantity of sugar than classic sweet champagnes, and has an alcohol content of 12%. This champagne was designed to be enjoyed in a refreshing and fun version, especially in summer, accompanying fresh dishes and light, seafood, sushi, salads and white meats. The Moët Ice Imperial was launched in 2011, and quickly established itself as one of the most innovative products of the Moët & Chandon. The cuvée Ice Impérial is a blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay grapes. The Pinot Noir gives structure and body to the wine, the Pinot Meunier provides fruit and sweetness while the Chardonnay contributes finesse and acidity. The combination of these three grapes gives life to a unique and distinctive champagne, with a perfect balance between sweetness and freshness. |
