Each cast iron model is still produced in the Fresnoy-le-Grand factory. Since some passages are still based on manual and artisan skills, each piece is unique and characterized by its own identity. From a cauldron called Creuset, liquid cast iron is poured into sand molds which are subsequently broken to pass to the enamelling and vitrification phase at high temperature over the entire surface. The initial enamelling guarantees durability and resistance to temperature changes. The vitrified enamelling gives a brightly colored finish, but above all it guarantees wide versatility of use for the preparation and storage of food. |
