This Classic Method Millesimato sparkling wine reflects winemaking tradition and innovation, inspired by Frescobaldi's great-great-grandmother Leonia, a pioneer in Italian viticulture. Climate and Harvest2020 was a year characterized by a mild winter and an early spring, favoring uniform budding and intense green leaves. The harvest began in September, with perfectly healthy grapes, thanks to the ideal climatic conditions. Vinification and MaturationThe manual harvest and slow pressing led to the creation of a cuvée of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. After cold clarification and fermentation partially in wood, the wine underwent aging on the yeasts for 30 months, followed by remuage and disgorgement. Tasting NotesLeonia Brut 2020 stands out for its straw yellow color and a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose emerge notes of citrus, yellow fruit, flowers and a subtle toasting with nuances of dried fruit. On the palate it is fresh, direct and tasty, with a notable persistence. |
