The 2017 vintage of Luce Brunello was characterized by a mild and relatively dry winter, which favored early budding. Despite a sudden drop in temperatures at the end of April which involved various areas of Tuscany, our vineyards have not suffered any problems thanks to their high altitude location. In the period between May and August, the very little rain and the intense heat limited the vegetative development of the plants and reduced the size of the bunches. However, the early September rains gave some relief. of relief to the plants in their last step of ripening of the grapes, allowing an early harvest of about 10 days. This has led to the production of small bunches, highly concentrated in polyphenols and tannins, thanks to the peel/juice ratio in favor of the peel.
