Grape Profile and Harvest Time

Produced with a blend of Merlot and Sangiovese grapes, two of the varieties; more representative of Tuscan red wines, Luce Toscana IGT 2020 best expresses the peculiar characteristics of the Tuscan territory. The harvest takes place at different times for the two varieties: September 3rd for the Merlot and September 16th for the Sangiovese.

Fermentation Process

The fermentation takes place in cement tanks at a temperature of 28°C, lasting 12 days. The maceration on the skins continues for 22 days, giving the wine that tannic structure and that intense color typical of Tuscan wines. The malolactic fermentation is carried out in barriques.

Aging and Bottling

The aging continues in barriques, 80% of which are new and 20% are one year old, for a period of 24 months. This long period of aging contributes to enriching the wine with complex nuances and refined nuances. The bottling is; which took place in November 2022.

With an alcohol content of 14.50% vol, an acidity; total of 6.07 gr/L and a pH of 3.45, Luce Toscana IGT 2020 stands out for its balance and structure.

The 2020 vintage saw a warm spring and a summer with little rain, favoring the growth of the grapes. Two heavy rains in the last week of August relieved the plants and lowered the temperatures, creating the ideal conditions for perfect ripening of the grapes.
