Mazon is a red wine from the Kollerhof estate, this red wine has a beautiful ruby ​​red color, slightly pale. Description

At 500 meters above sea level in the south of Alto Adige it is the location is located of Mazzon, a fraction of the municipality of Egna. Today Mazzon is the classic area of ​​the production of Pinot Noir Doc. Land: the Mazzon hill rests on a powerful layer of limestone rocks from the Triassic era, dominated by sandstones, red and yellow siltstones and limestones, together with marl and dolomite. Mazzon is also characterized by further and singular geographical factors, such as its altitude and exposure to the west, which positively influence the maturation of Pinot Noir.

Production Process

To guarantee excellent quality is careful thinning in the vineyard is essential, which allows for uniform ripening of the grapes. The destemmed grapes are transferred to steel containers where maceration and fermentation take place at a controlled temperature. For a year the young wine matures in wooden barrels. It then rests again in steel until bottling.

Organoleptic Characteristics
