Description | The Nipozzano Castle is an ancient stronghold dating back to the year 1000, located in the heart of the Chianti Rufina area, in the province of Florence (Tuscany), on the mountainside overlooking the Arno river valley, offering a breathtaking panoramic position on the surrounding hills. The most famous and historic property of the Frescobaldi< family /strong>, the Nipozzano Castle is one of the most important medieval strongholds in Tuscany. According to popular tradition, Nipozzano means ""without a well"", testifying that the area was poor in water, an ideal circumstance for growing vines. l Cru Mormoreto Toscana IGT is a wine produced with Cabernet and Petit Verdot grapes, grown 150 years ago by the Marchesi Frescobaldi family. Marmoreto IGT is a red wine with a vibrant, deep and harmonious character, and was first made in 1983 to satisfy the desire to produce a great wine. Since 2013, a small amount of Sangiovese has been added to emphasize the elegance of the wine. The result is a high quality product, appreciated by wine connoisseurs and with a strong family tradition behind it. The climatic trend of the 2019< /strong> del Marmoreto Toscana IGT was a perfect mix of ideal conditions for the growth of the grapes. The winter was characterized by long sunny days, but with low temperatures, favoring the rest of the plants. The spring was cool and the well-distributed rains provided the vines with the water reserves they needed to face the summer. In the summer period, the temperature variations between day and night helped to maintain an ideal temperature for the ripening of the grapes, while the cool breezes coming from the slopes of the Apennines made the environment even more favourable. The result? Ripe and healthy grapes, ready for the harvest and the production of wines with a typical Tuscan character, with a pleasant acidity and silky tannins. The vinification and maturation of Mormoreto Toscana IGT wine is a long and careful process down to the smallest detail. The vineyard is located in a privileged position, at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level. on sandy soils with south-west exposure. The harvest is done manually and only the best bunches are selected for the subsequent processing in the cellar. The result of this scrupulous attention to detail is the highest possible quality of the grapes. The 2019 harvest gave wonderfully ripe grapes with a strong character. After racking, malolactic fermentation began immediately, and then proceeded with the maturation process. The precious Mormoreto spent two years of aging in French oak barriques, benefiting from the natural micro-oxygenation offered by the wood. After bottling, the wine continued to refine for the following months, achieving the perfect balance between elegance and potential. This long manufacturing process has produced an extraordinary wine, characterized by its complexity and intensity, a symbol of excellence and Tuscan tradition. |
