The Nipozzano Castle is a timeless beauty, the essence of Tuscany with a medieval and Renaissance heart. Built in the year 1000, it is located in the heart of the prestigious <strong>Chianti Rufina</strong> area, right on the mountain side overlooking the Arno river valley. An ancient stronghold defending Florence since the year one thousand, the Nipozzano Castle is the most famous and historic property of the <strong>Frescobaldi family</strong>. According to popular tradition, Nipozzano means "without a well", testifying that the area was poor in water, an ideal circumstance for the cultivation of vines. The first evidence of the quality of Nipozzano wine dates back to the Renaissance, when even great artists such as Donatello and Michelozzo Michelozzi used to purchase this wine. The winter was sunny with low temperatures, the spring was cool and rainy which guaranteed good water reserves, while the summer saw temperature variations with refreshing breezes coming from the slopes of the Apennines. These conditions favored the ripening of the grapes, which arrived at the harvest in excellent sanitary conditions and gave rise to wines with a good acidity and silky tannins, typical of the Chianti Rufina area.</p><p>The winemaking and the maturation of the Nipozzano Riserva 2020 Chianti Rufina DOCG began with the harvest of the grapes which were immediately sent to the cellar, where they were destemmed and subjected to spontaneous fermentation in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks. The wine then continued to mature in the vats, completing the maceration. The subsequent malolactic fermentation was also carried out in steel. At the end of the year the wine was transferred to barriques for maturation, and the subsequent period in the bottle allowed Nipozzano 2020 to express itself at its best, giving it an exceptional expressive balance.</p><p>Nipozzano Riserva Chianti Rufina 2020 is a unique experience for the senses.
