Description | Nizza d'Asti DOCG 2019 - Cascina Valle AsinariThe Nizza DOCG produced by Cascina Valle Asinari is a wine that offers a powerful and incisive sip, characterized by a great gustatory richness and a decisive acidity.Production detailsThis wine is 100% produced with Barbera grapes grown in the Valle Asinari area, in San Marzano Oliveto, in the Asti region. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with the exclusive use of indigenous yeasts in cement tanks, for a duration of about 12 days. After that, the wine is drawn off and pressed, and returns to the concrete tanks to complete the malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by 6 months in cement tanks.Organoleptic characteristicsNizza DOCG 2019 has a deep ruby red color with brick reflections that reflect its refinement. It is an elegant and powerful wine, and its vibrant acidity remains evident throughout the sip. On the nose, it expresses aromas of red fruits, pepper and undergrowth. The ideal serving temperature is 15-17°C, and it has an alcohol content of 15%.Food pairingsThis red wine goes perfectly with game dishes and red meat, whether roasted, braised or stewed. It's also great with aged cheeses, thanks to its powerful flavor profile and firm acidity.Cascina Valle AsinariThe Cascina is located in San Marzano Oliveto, on the bricco di Valle Asinari, an area already known for its wine-growing potential since the 1300s, thanks to the Asinari lords. From this historic 15-hectare hill, comparable to Cannubi as far as Barolo is concerned, 4 extraordinary wines are born, all based on or entirely composed of Barbera, the original grape of the Asti area. Cascina Valle Asinari is now owned by Oscar Farinetti and Piero Bagnasco. |
