Description | Montefusco is a town in the province of Avellino, in Campania, set on the top of a hill that offers a breathtaking panoramic view on the mountains of Partenio, Terminio and Taburno, on the Sabato valley and on the plain of San Giorgio del Sannio, it is a village of ancient origins. According to one thesis, it could be an ancient center of Lombard origin, while others argue that it is the nucleus built on the ancient Falsulae mentioned by Tito Livio. The town, which retains the charm of a past rich in history, was the capital of the ""Principato Ultra"", the ancient province of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies which brought together Irpinia and the Benevento area, from the end of the 16th century until 1806, when the headquarters were moved to Avellino. The Mastroberardino estate is located to the north -east of the Greco di Tufo DOCG area and was planted in the 1980s thanks to the work of viticultural zoning, with the aim of producing the cru Novaserra Greco di Tufo. This ancient vine had been selected after years of experimentation on the variety and on the territory, in a new area for the expression of this precious wine. The Novaserra Greco di Tufo DOCG 2022 strong> delle Cantine Mastroberardino is a white wine obtained in purity from the grapes of this estate, which expresses an organoleptic complexity never reached before, a great structure and elegance. The Mastroberardino family has played a fundamental role in the recovery and relaunch of the ancient Greco vine, which was in danger of disappearing, by identifying the production area and making it pure. The Novaserra, which has become a classic, it is obtained through a rigorous selection of the grapes and offers a unique organoleptic complexity. The Novaserra Greco di Tufo Mastroberardino label reproduces the details of a painting by Raffaele De Rosa, made on one of the vaults of the aging caves. The vinification and #39;aging of this fine white wine takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature (about 20 days) and then in the bottle for three or four months. As for the food pairing, Novaserra Greco di Tufo Di Mastroberardino goes perfectly with legume-based appetizers, white meats and seafood, risotto with mushrooms, shellfish and fish-based dishes, baked fish, fries, white meats and unseasoned or soft cheeses.
