Description | Patrinus 2021 Il Colle del Corsicano: Wines from the heart of CilentoWelcome to the south, in the heart of Cilento where the winemaker Alferio Romito grows Aglianico and Primitivo grapes > that give body to a splendid red wine: THE PATRINUS. "The idea of producing wines is the fruit of a dream that I have carried with me since I was a child. As a child, I spent my holidays constantly wondering when the time would come to harvest the grapes that my grandmother Rosa took me to look in the vineyard. For me, the harvest meant days of joy and emotions that I spent in our small cellar, "u vuttar" in our Cilento dialect, without neglecting any work, assiduously helping my father." Cultivation Of The PatrinusPatrinus is the only one who's ever known. an exceptional wine that masterfully combines the robust character of Aglianico with the intense aroma of Primitivo. This exquisite wine is; composed of 93% Aglianico and 7% Primitivo, offering a unique blend of flavours. The vineyard from which these precious grapes come is exposed to South / West, ensuring optimal sunlight throughout the day. The soil in which the vines grow is a combination of clay and sand, which gives the wine a particular minerality; and a solid structure. The cultivation of the vines follows the simple espalier system, with spurred cordon pruning. This technique makes it possible to control the growth of the vine and to concentrate the flavors within the bunches. The grapes are harvested manually, with a careful selection of the best bunches. These are then collected in small 15 kg boxes, to preserve their integrity as much as possible. Vinification of PatrinusOnce selected, the grapes are destemmed and pressed. Subsequently, fermentation takes place for about 15 days at a temperature of 25-28 °C. This process allows you to extract the intense flavors and structure of the wine. After fermentation, the Patrinus wine is aged for a period of 3-4 months in second and third passage oak barriques. This refinement process gives the wine further nuances of flavor and intensifies its aroma. In ConclusionIn conclusion, the Patrinus is; a wine of great character and depth, whose production is; cured in every detail, from the choice of land and the exposure of the vineyard, to the cultivation system, to the manual harvest, up to the fermentation and refinement. This attention to detail makes Patrinus a wine of exceptional quality. History of the Colle del CorsicanoThe Colle del Corsicano farm has its roots in the picturesque town of Corsica. of Castellabate, located in the province of Salerno, in Campania. Here, for four generations, Alferio Romito's family has been cultivating its vineyards, surrounded by a splendid view of the sea and immersed in the Mediterranean scrub. The area of San Marco di Castellabate, in particular, is home to the historic family lands where the native Aglianico and Primitivo vines are grown. The company practices organic agriculture, meticulously following the practices that provide for the nourishment of the soil through organic and mineral substances released by the grassing. The vineyards and olive groves are completely covered with grass, thus contributing to protect the soil from erosion and summer heat. Furthermore, the defense of plants takes place only with organic products, to safeguard the health of operators and consumers and to protect the environment. |
