Description | Pendino Fiano di Avellino DOCG 2023 - Colli di CastelfranciThe Pendino Fiano di Avellino DOCG 2023 is a mountain wine that represents the excellence of the Castelfranci hills. Produced with 100% Fiano grapes, this wine best expresses the characteristics of the Lapio (AV) area, where it is grown at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level. Vine variety and production areaThe Pendino Fiano di Avellino is obtained exclusively from Fiano grapes, an indigenous vine from Campania. The production area is located in Lapio, in the province of Avellino, characterized by medium-textured and sandy soil, with south-west exposure. The vineyards, aged between 15 and 20 years, are cultivated according to the Guyot cultivation system, with a planting density of 3500 vines per hectare and a yield of 70 quintals per hectare. Winification and RefinementThe grapes are harvested by hand in the first ten days of October, in small 15 kg boxes, to guarantee the integrity of the bunch. This is followed by a long pressing of the undestemmed bunches. The must ferments at low temperatures for a month, keeping the varietal aromas intact. After fermentation, the wine is subjected to a 4-month élevage sur lies, during which bâtonnage is carried out every two weeks in steel containers. Finally, the wine ages in the bottle for a month, thus achieving the perfect balance between freshness and complexity. Tasting NotesThe Pendino Fiano di Avellino has a bright straw yellow color. On the nose it offers a complex and aromatic bouquet, with hints of white pulp fruit, white flowers and mineral notes. On the palate it is fresh and tasty, with a good structure and a notable aromatic persistence, which best expresses the character of Fiano and its territory of origin. Gastronomic PairingsThis Fiano di Avellino pairs perfectly with seafood dishes, such as raw fish, seafood and shellfish, but also with delicate first courses and white meats. It is also ideal as an aperitif, to accompany fresh cheeses and light starters. Its versatility makes it suitable for numerous occasions, enhancing Mediterranean cuisine with its elegance and complexity. Technical DetailsPendino Fiano di Avellino DOCG 2023 is a white wine of great value, produced with care and attention at every stage of production. Its unique characteristics make it an authentic expression of the Campania region and the winemaking tradition of the Castelfranci hills. Store in a cool place and serve at a temperature of 8-10°C to fully appreciate all the aromatic nuances. |
