Description | Per'E Palummo Ischia DOC 2023: The Charm of Casa D'Ambra's PiedirossoPer'E Palummo by Casa d'Ambra is a red wine that expresses the freshness and juiciness of the Piedirosso vine, the most widespread in the Phlegraean area. This wine is produced on the volcanic lands of the island of Ischia, where Casa D'Ambra, since 1888, has valorised the unique terroir of the island, made of volcanic tuff and kissed by a Mediterranean, sweet and sunny climate. The Piedirosso grapes come from vineyards located in Fiaiano d'Ischia, in the municipality of Barano and Serrara Fontana, grown at an altitude of 200-300 meters above sea level with an exposure facing east and north-east. The soils, rich in potassium and phosphorus, give the wine a unique minerality and complexity. Organoleptic CharacteristicsPer'E Palummo has a brilliant ruby red color and bright reflections. The olfactory picture is dominated by notes of ripe cherry, small berries such as raspberry and red plum, enriched by nuances of aromatic herbs and spicy hints. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, with a subtle, delicate tannic texture, crisp aromas and rich, juicy fruit. The finish is characterized by fresh and savory sensations, making tasting pleasantly easy and smooth. After harvesting, the bunches are sent to ferment in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, with maceration on the skins for approximately ten days. This winemaking method allows you to extract the maximum aromatic and taste characteristics of the vine. Before bottling, the wine matures for a few months in steel tanks, maintaining the freshness and fragrance that characterize it. Technical InformationPer'E Palummo Ischia DOC 2023 is produced from 100% Piedirosso grapes, grown in the Campania region. This red wine has an alcohol content of 12.5% and is bottled in 75 cl format. The ideal serving temperature is between 16 and 18°C, preferably in a glass with a medium opening which allows the concentration of the aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of the aromas. It is perfect to drink immediately to better appreciate its freshness and liveliness. Like all wines, it contains sulphites.
