Description | Welcome to discover the Pian delle Vigne Estate, located in Montalcino, in the province of Siena, in the heart of Tuscany< /strong>, where the Antinori family expresses its personal and profound vision of Brunello di Montalcino, one of the most prestigious and traditional wines of 39;Italy. The Pian delle Vigne Estate extends over 65 hectares of vineyards planted with Sangiovese, locally known as ""Brunello "". The privileged position, at an altitude of about 130 meters a.s.l. and with a mainly South/West exposure, it guarantees an ideal climate for the cultivation of this grape variety. The clayey, calcareous soil rich in small stones, combined with the philosophy oriented towards large barrels, allows us to preserve the integrity of the Sangiovese fruit and give Brunello its characteristic vibrant elegance. The The 2016 vintage of the Brunello di Montalcino Pian delle Vigne DOCG was particularly favorable thanks to a little rainy winter and a mild spring which favored a slight advance of budding and of flowering. The summer, which tended to be cooler than the previous year, offered temperatures above the seasonal average, especially during July and August. The light rainfall in September and the lowering of temperatures allowed the grapes to complete their ripening in an optimal way, enhancing the freshness of the Sangiovese and giving the wine soft and balanced tannins. The vinification of  ;Brunello di Montalcino Pian delle Vigne was treated in detail: the grapes were destemmed and gently pressed before being transferred to stainless steel tanks, where the alcoholic fermentation took place. The maceration lasted about fifteen days at a temperature of 28°C. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was transferred to oak barrels ranging in size from 30 to 80 Hl, where it began its maturation process in wood. After two years, the Brunello di Montalcino Pian delle Vigne left the large barrels to move towards the long aging in the bottle. The Antinori winery, founded in 1385 in Florence, represents one of the most important and oldest companies Italian wineries, led today by the 26th generation of the Antinori family. The winery produces a wide range of high quality wines, including some of the most prestigious in the world, such as Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, Tignanello and Solaia. Come and discover the Pian delle Vigne estate and taste the very personal interpretation of Brunello di Montalcino by the Marchesi Antinori, where tradition is combined with innovation to give your palate an unforgettable experience. |
