Description | Rosso di Montalcino 2023: The freshness of Sangiovese from Pian delle VigneRosso di Montalcino 2023, produced by the historic Tenuta Pian delle Vigne of Marchesi Antinori, is a refined pure Sangiovese that captures the essence of Montalcino's winemaking tradition. Located 6 km south-west of Montalcino, the estate extends for 184 hectares, of which 83 are under vineyards, on limestone-clay soils perfect for enhancing the qualities of the vine. This wine expresses freshness, pleasantness and great drinkability, embodying the Antinori family's personal vision of a prestigious territory. Vintage and ClimateThe 2023 vintage was characterized by a dry winter followed by a mild spring. The sprouting of the vines occurred with a slight delay, but the subsequent warm and dry climate favored the production of healthy grapes with smaller and more concentrated berries. Some rains in August accelerated the ripening processes, allowing the grapes to be harvested slightly earlier than average and in optimal conditions to guarantee a high quality product. Winmaking and AgingAfter the harvest, the grapes were destemmed and gently pressed. The alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25°C for 8-10 days, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine then aged for approximately 10 months, developing a perfect balance between freshness and complexity, before being bottled and placed on the market. Tasting NotesRosso di Montalcino 2023 is presents a bright ruby red color. On the nose it offers an intense and pleasant bouquet, with notes of strawberry, cherry and blood orange, accompanied by floral aromas, eucalyptus and tobacco. Freshness and flavor stand out on the palate, supported by silky and soft tannins. The aftertaste, long and harmonious, reproduces the fruity and citrus sensations perceived on the nose, giving a refined and satisfying tasting experience. A Versatile and Mineral WineThanks to its freshness and minerality, Rosso di Montalcino 2023 is an ideal wine to accompany a wide range of dishes. Perfect with tasty first courses, white or red meats and semi-mature cheeses, it also lends itself to moments of conviviality and refined aperitifs. An excellent choice for those seeking the authenticity of the Montalcino area with a touch of modernity. |
