Pomino Bianco 2022 has a brilliant straw yellow color, almost crystalline, embellished with slight greenish reflections that enhance its liveliness. On the nose, it remains faithful to its DNA, revealing evident hints of green apple and pear, flanked by an equally intense floral component. A rich bouquet of white and yellow flowers is revealed, among which stand out notes of linden, hawthorn, wisteria, lily and mimosa. The olfactory finish does not disappoint, evoking exotic fruits such as mango accompanied by notes of acacia honey, adding a touch of sweetness. In the mouth, the wine manifests itself with a straight path, very fresh, slightly sapid and mineral, with a balance that highlights its finesse. Coming from one of the most suitable areas for the production of white wines in Tuscany, at altitudes that reach 700 metres, Pomino 2022 is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco of great elegance and refinement.

Climate trend

The climatic trend of the 2022 vintage was characterized at the end of May by a rather early flowering in the vineyards, with temperatures typical of the summer months. Summer 2022 will be remembered as one of the longest in recent years. In the first part of the summer, the plants showed an acceleration in the growth phase of the shoots and in the setting of the inflorescences, offering excellent homogeneity in the vineyards. By July, the vines had adapted to the outside environment, slowing down their initial momentum to protect themselves from the summer heat. The providential rain in mid-August made it possible to obtain clear and fragrant musts.

Technical Notes

Pomino Bianco 2022 is mainly composed of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco, with small parts of complementary varieties. It has an alcohol content of 12.5% ​​and is partially aged in wood.

Vinification and Maturation

The grapes were harvested with the greatest possible care. The care taken in the vineyard and the subsequent processes in the cellar have contributed to guaranteeing a high level of quality. Once in the cellar, the grapes and consequently the musts were processed avoiding contact with oxygen as much as possible. The pressing cycles have been chosen to allow a gentle extraction of the musts. The alcoholic fermentation was carried out in steel tanks and a small part in French oak barriques, all at a controlled temperature. After its production, Pomino Bianco remained aged in the bottle, only after this additional period was it ready to present its structure and its explosion of freshness to the public.
