Description | Ravello Rosso Riserva 2019: A unique expression of Red Wines from CampaniaRavello Rosso Riserva 2019 is an exclusive selection of Red Wines, coming from the renowned wine region of Campania. Obtained from a careful selection of 70% Piedirosso grapes (locally called "pere e' palummo") and 30% Aglianico, this wine represents the excellence of Campania wines and the audacity of Extreme wines. Terroir and viticultureThe vineyards extend over the coastal terraces of Ravello and Scala, located at an altitude of between 300 and 400 meters above sea level, with south/south-west exposure. The land, characterized by dolomitic-limestone rocks, offers the ideal conditions for the cultivation of native grapes. The training system adopted includes the pergola and/or atypical sunburst and the espalier, with a planting density between 5000 and 7000 vines per hectare. Harvesting and vinificationThe harvest takes place manually in the third ten days of October, when the grapes reach their complete ripeness. The vinification involves destemming and crushing of the grapes, followed by fermentation with intense maceration lasting 20 days. Subsequently, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is processed in new French oak barriques. Aging and organoleptic characteristicsThe Ravello Rosso Riserva 2019 ages for 12 months in new oak barriques French, before bottling. The result is a wine with an intense red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, intense aromas of wild berry jam emerge, while on the palate the wine is soft and well balanced, with an enveloping finish of licorice, vanilla and spices. Cantine Marisa CuomoThe Cantine Marisa Cuomo are immersed in the enchanting landscape of Furore, where the grapes grow clinging to the rock, exposed to the magical action of the sun and the sea of the Amalfi Coast. The vines, mainly cultivated in "pergola" and often planted on vertical rock faces, extend over ten hectares, of which 3.5 are owned. The wines of Cantine Marisa Cuomo mature in an ancient cellar dug into the rock of dolomitic-calcareous origin: a fascinating, humid and cool place, which houses the French oak barriques. The vinification takes place according to the most modern techniques, in a perfect union between nature and technology. In an extreme and characteristic territory like Furore, the care of the vines and grapes becomes an entirely manual work. In close contact with nature, the Cantine Marisa Cuomo experiment with innovative techniques to wrest soil from the rock, build pergolas on which to lay the vines and rigorously select the most suitable crops and noble vines. It is truly an extraordinary passion for wine, the secret of the success of Cantine Marisa Cuomo, capable of transforming the fruits of these extreme lands into wines of excellence, admired and appreciated all over the world. |
