Sommeliers , the world's first collection of specific glasses for variety and grape variety, features a revolutionary design created by Claus J. Riedel (9th generation), which perfects the shape of the glass in its essentiality as a drinker, stem and base. These mouth-blown goblets, thin and unadorned, are inspired by the principle of the Bauhaus movement which sees form as subordinate to functionality. The collaboration of Claus J. Riedel with expert sommeliers led him to discover that wine served in specially designed glasses releases more intensity and has a better balance than that served in conventional glasses. In 1973, the Sommeliers collection achieved great success all over the world. This series of glasses includes 29 different shapes intended for wines, champagnes and spirits. |
