| Description | Sanct Valentin Alto Adige DOC Lagrein Riserva 2020: An Excellent Expression of Autochthonous LagreinLagrein is a native variety of South Tyrol, and in the vineyards on the slopes of the municipality of Bolzano it finds the best conditions for the production of high quality wines. Among these stands out the Lagrein Sanct Valentin, born in 2000, which ages for 12 months in small oak barrels and a further 6 months in large barrels to obtain a more harmonious profile. Its robust character develops on the palate with powerful strength and well-balanced acidity, making it a vigorous wine with considerable aging potential. Sensory Analysis of the Sanct Valentin Lagrein Riserva 2020At the sight, the Sanct Valentin Lagrein Riserva 2020 has a dark red color tending towards black. On the nose, complex aromas of coffee, cocoa and berries emerge. On the palate, it is round, powerful and full-bodied, confirming its vigorous nature. Details on the Production of Sanct Valentin Lagrein Riserva 2020The wine is produced with Lagrein grapes grown in the localities of Coste and Gries (260-300 m), on soils characterized by morainic deposits and sandy alluvial soils. The vineyards, 10-20 years of age, are raised half in Pergola and half in Guyot. The harvest takes place between mid and late September, with manual harvesting and selection of the grapes. The wine ferments in steel, then undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages in barrique-tonneau. After about 1 year, the wines are blended and the wine ages for another 10 months in steel. The yield is 45 hl/ha and the acidity is 5.15 gr/lt, with an alcohol content of 14%.
