The hills of Franciacorta were inhabited by primitive populations, then by the Cenomani Gauls, the Romans and the Longobards, and in all these eras the cultivation of vines has been a constant. Franciacorta was an ideal region for the cultivation of vines due to its favorable climatic and soil conditions. Despite the ups and downs, viticulture in these lands has never stopped.</p><p><strong>Saten Franciacorta Brut DOCG Ferghettina</strong> is a sparkling wine produced in the Italian region of <strong>Franciacorta< /strong>, in the province of Brescia, Lombardy. The <strong>DOCG</strong> (Controlled and Guaranteed Denomination of Origin) guarantees that the wine meets high quality standards and is produced in a specific geographical area using traditional methods. <strong>Ferghettina</strong> is a Franciacorta winery that produces high quality sparkling wines. </p><p><strong>Franciacorta</strong> <strong>Saten</strong> is a wine sparkling wine of great elegance and refinement, which represents the perfect expression of the finest and most delicate vineyards of the Ferghettina winery. The winery carefully selects the <strong>Chardonnay</strong> from 20 different vineyards located in 6 municipalities of Franciacorta to create its cuvee. This attention to the quality of the grapes and the classic method production give Franciacorta Saten unique characteristics, such as the straw yellow color with golden reflections, the fresh and delicate aroma of fruit and flowers, and a soft, fresh structure and light in the mouth with excellent acidity and a long persistence on the palate. </p><p>The vinification process of Franciacorta Saten Brut Docg involves the use of whole bunch grapes which are pressed with a pneumatic press presses gently. During the vinification the musts are separated into two fractions: free-run must, which has the best qualitative characteristics and which is used for the production of Franciacorta and second pressing must which is not destined for bottling. The alcoholic fermentation is carried out in steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 16 and 18 °C. The base wine rests in the tank until the spring following the harvest.</p><p>The Ferghettina farm is known for its particular square bottle, created to obtain the "squaring of the circle". The unique shape of the bottle, patented by Matteo, Roberto's son, allows Franciacortas aged on the lees to have a wine-yeast contact surface up to 2.5 times greater than a round bottle. The inner side of the bottle, in fact, is flat, allowing for a greater storage area for the yeasts.
