Description | Climbing the hill towards Sorbo Serpico, you enter a magical world where you can admire unexpected places of water, spice gardens and blooming rose gardens. However, the real surprise is found inside the cellar: a long cellar that houses the red wines. The Feudi di San Gregorio winery is not only a place of production of high quality wines, but also a forum, a place for meeting, discussion, knowledge, meditation, a laboratory of ideas and culture, a place of welcome and refreshment. Irpinia, the historic region of the Campania Apennines, is a unique wine-growing area, where vineyards coexist always with fruit trees, woods, olive trees, aromatic herbs. This territory is both sour and sweet, with strong connotations and intense sensations. The vines of Feudi di San Gregorio find their roots in an ancient hinterland, whose vineyards are already witnessed in the texts of Pliny, Columella and Strabone. Feudi di San Gregorio is a winery that represents the symbol of the enological renaissance of southern Italy and of the culture of drinking that has the aim of rediscovering the identity of Mediterranean flavors. The company stands out for the enhancement of the vines of Southern Italy, such as Aglianico, Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo, and for his commitment to investing in the centuries-old tradition of Irpinia viticulture, giving back a future to a unique environmental heritage. The Taurasi wine DOCG 2014 Feudi Di San Gregorio, produced with Aglianico grapes, finds its ideal territory in the uncontaminated, volcanic and impenetrable area of Taurasi. After an alcoholic fermentation and maceration in steel tanks for about 3-4 weeks, the wine is aged for about 18 months in medium toasted French oak barriques and aged for a minimum of 9 months in the bottle. This wine goes perfectly with large roasted red meats, noble poultry and braised meats in Aglianico. In summary, Feudi di San Gregorio is a winery that offers an experience of taste, culture and tradition. Its goal is to enhance the vines of Southern Italy and to restore a future to the ancient hinterland of Irpinia. Thanks to his passion for viticulture, Feudi di San Gregorio has become one of the most renowned and appreciated wineries in Italy and in the world. |
