I Frati is a white wine from the Ca' dei Frati winery, to the eye it shows an intense straw yellow, it is a white wine that can be enjoyed young or left to rest for a couple of years in the cellar. If floral aromas and hints of apple emerge at the beginning, aging enriches it with notes of spices and candied fruit. On the palate it is well structured, full-bodied, direct, with a pleasant savory note.

Lugana "I Frati" represents the essence of the Ca' dei Frati winery, located on the shores of Lake Garda. This wine captivates with its duality: delicious and refreshing in its youth, but reaching its peak of expression after a few years in the bottle. Through this expression, the renowned winery wishes to tell its story and the link with the native vines. Thus, "I Frati" is configured as the most representative symbol of Lake Garda, the true pride of Ca' dei Frati, which has been able to make the world know and appreciate a lesser-known vine in Italy but with a strong territorial character, the Turbiana, also known as Trebbiano di Lugana.

Production: a link with the territory

Lugana Ca' dei Frati comes from the terroir and from vines that reach up to 40 years of age, planted in the lower Garda area, on calcareous and clayey soils benefiting from an ideal microclimate. The cuvée derives from a careful selection of grapes from different parcels, which ferment in steel and carry out 80% of the malolactic fermentation. These are then blended to give the final wine its distinctive identity. The refinement takes place for 6 months in steel, in the presence of fine yeasts, and ends with a further refinement in the bottle for another 6 months.

It is a wine capable of satisfying both those looking for immediate and light freshness and those who want an elegant white to keep in the cellar for a few months. In its early years, it teases the nose with fragrant floral aromas of white flowers and fruity notes of apple, plum and citrus, framed by a mineral touch. With ageing, it is enriched with iodized scents, tertiary notes, spices and candied fruit. On the palate it is fresh, direct and refined, with a pleasant savory note. Only with evolution do more mineral and balsamic sensations emerge, highlighting a good structure and a full and pleasant body. A versatile wine, but full of passion, which goes perfectly with grilled lake fish dishes with vegetables, lightly seasoned fish soups or a simple margherita pizza.
