Tignanello wine shows an intense ruby red color. The nose is surprising for its complexity: notes of red fruit, strawberry and pomegranate alternate with delicate hints of apricot and peaches in syrup, accompanied by elegant nuances of vanilla, dried flowers, chocolate and spices such as nutmeg. The bouquet is completed by notes of coffee, caramel and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is enveloping and graceful, with silky and vibrant tannins that give vivacity, sapidity and gustatory persistence. The aftertaste is characterized by notes of toasted coffee and bitter cocoa.

Description | Tenuta Tignanello, located in the heart of Chianti Classico, in the province of Florence, (Tuscany), is an oasis of natural and wine-growing beauty. With 319 hectares of land, of which about 130 hectares dedicated to vines, the Tignanello estate is the home of two of the most renowned wines in Italian wine history: Tignanello and Solaia. What makes these two vineyards unique is their position, set on the same hill between the Greve and Pesa valleys, which offers an ideal microclimate for the growth of the vine. Thanks to the soil composed of Pliocene marine marls, limestone and shale, together with warm days and cool nights during the growing season, the grapes produced in these two vineyards reach an optimal level of ripeness and a complex aromatic profile. The Tignanello Toscana IGT of the Marchesi Antinori was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques and the first red wine modern to be assembled with non-traditional varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. It was also one of the first Chianti Classico red wines not to use white grapes, representing a milestone in the history of Italian viticulture. The 2019 vintage was particularly favorable for the production of this wine. The regular climatic conditions allowed a balanced growth of the vegetation and the bunches, while the hot summer but without thermal excesses allowed the perfect ripening of the cultivated varieties. The grapes were harvested starting from the second ten days of September and processed with extreme attention to the maintenance of aromas, the extraction of color and the management of the sweetness and elegance of the tannins during vinification. The The refinement process of Tignanello took place in French and Hungarian oak barrels, partly new and partly second passage, for about 14-16 months. After an initial refinement in separate lots, the wines were blended to complete the evolution in wood, before further refining in the bottle for 12 months. Tenuta Tignanello is a true treasure trove of wines of the highest quality, the result of the perfect combination of nature, the passion and care of the Marchesi Antinori, who continue to challenge each other and innovate to offer the world unique and unforgettable wines.
