Calafuria 2023 represents the beating heart of the Rosato I.G.T. Salento, born from the harmonious union between the territory and the varietal Negroamaro. The "two-faced" vintage, with a mild and rainy winter and spring followed by a dry and hot summer, required careful management of the Tormaresca vineyards in Masseria Maìme to ensure optimal maturation of the grapes.

The Harvest and Winemaking

The delayed harvest of the grapes, between the end of August and September, allowed the grapes to be picked at peak ripeness. The winemaking process was aimed at preserving the freshness and aroma of the wine, with fermentations at low temperatures and a short refinement in steel, maintaining contact with the yeasts to enrich the taste profile of Calafuria.

Masseria Maìme, immersed in the Alto Salento, is surrounded by woods and pine forests that extend to the sea, creating a panorama of extraordinary beauty.
