It is an elegant and structured red, inspired by Bordeaux wines, harmonious and persuasive, this red wine offers an immediately pleasant tasting experience, but has considerable potential of aging, capable of easily reaching 20 years.

The Estate

The Villa Gresti comes from Tenuta San Leonardo, a total area of ​​about 300 hectares in the heart of Trentino, of which only about thirty are dedicated to viticulture. The preferred vines in these lands are Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Merlot, Petit Vedot, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. Villa Gresti is a blend predominantly of Merlot, complemented by a small amount of Carménère.

Production

The grapes, which come from the company's vineyards of an age; approximately 10-20 years old, are located in the hilly area of ​​Avio, in the locality of St. Leonard. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks at a controlled temperature, with maceration on the skins for a few weeks. The wine then ages in barriques for a period of 12-14 months and finishes the refinement with a year in the bottle.
