The name "Sassicaia" derives from the Castiglioncello area, where Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc vines were planted on a slope covered with stones.

A handcrafted production, which begins with the manual harvesting of the grapes with a slow fermentation and which takes place in French oak barriques for at least 18-22 months. The result is an internationally renowned wine with intense hints of blackberry and cassis, notes of smoke and spices, firm and ripe tannins, and a long and elegant finish.
